THIS is the day my whole life began...
Our First Christmas as a "Family".
Me and Boondocks Daddy. We met in 4th grade when he sat in the desk in front of me. We started "going together" (as we called it back then) the summer after 7th grade. I knew I would marry him by the fall of our 8th grade year. Go ahead. Gag yourself. I know. It's kinda sick... He didn't know quite that fast, however. I had to convince him I was going to be his everything, too!

Boondocks Baby.... My Our whole world.
Now really. What's my deal? I'm a 30 year old mom and wife who lives in rural ND. I got a degree in English and never did a damn thing with it. I work in a pretty non-descript office job. I LOVE being a mom. I envy all my friends who are stay at home moms and am constantly entertaining schemes that will get me out of working and allow me to stay home with my munchkin and play house full time. My husband insists that I work... more on that later. I love to write. That doesn't mean I'm any good at it. I also love photagraphy and mess with that a little, too. I mostly just love life and enjoy documenting it.
Now, down to the real nitt and gritt of it all. Who am I, really? Well... I constantly forget to brush my kid's teeth (the baby ones fall out eventually, right?), don't think swearing once and awhile is such a big f'ing deal, let my kid pick her nose, but never let her eat it of course! I'm always late, my car is a complete disaster, and my dog needs a bath REALLY badly. But, I try to keep most of those things on the down low. I pretend to be a normal mom and a normal wife with a sweet little family. Am I too old to use "LOL" at this point?
I live in a winter wasteland. We have 6 months of cold and snow. I'm talking 30 degrees below ZERO and FEET of snow in my front yard, and well I guess our back yard and everywhere else for that matter. My friends are adorable, but many have NEVER worn stillhetos and one recenlty admitted she didn't know what stillhetos are. They do, however, know what funeral hotdish is and how to "rock" your car out of a snow bank. My husband grew up on a farm and was riding around on 3 wheelers and snowmobiles while still in diapers. I grew up "in town". A town of about 3500 people- on the MN side of the river. We're actually still here, in this place we grew up, (now just on the other side of the river in ND) and never really went very far, actually. The hubby and I both went to college in Fargo, ND, only to be sucked back in to our very comfortable little home town. We like it here... I guess.
In high school I once confided to my little sister that I wanted to be a free-lance writer and live in Manhattan. My sister laughed at me and said, "Yeah, right. You and Randy will live on some land down by the river in a double wide trailer." And, almost 10 years later we were doing just that. We lived on a farm, in a trailer, down by the river. Uggh. I didn't want to admit that! Not to offend all you trailer-dwelling folks! The trailer was actually really nice, and a lot are. We don't live there anymore, though. But we did. We definitly did.
